Volumetric surveys

The surveying and calculation of material stockpiles or sites, against a datum or projected surface.

Digital terrain models (DTM)

The conversion of two-dimensional data into a three-dimensional format for use in machine control, or setting out of bulk earthworks.

Cut & fill modelling

The process of calculating the surplus or deficit of material of an existing site in relation to a design, then modifying the design to minimise export/import of material to reduce costs.
